How to turn a photo into anime.

    Choose a style above. Most keep your pose, framing and outfit; Anime PFP crops you to head and shoulders, Chibi Me redraws you head to toe, and costume styles such as Mecha Pilot dress you in your own colors.

    Upload a clear photo

    A selfie, a portrait, or a photo of your pet. The face should be visible and reasonably lit, since the eyes are what an anime drawing is built around.

    Generate

  • Face the camera, or close to it. A full profile hides the eyes the style is drawn around.

Will the anime version still look like me?

That is what the styles are written for. Each one is told to keep your hairstyle and hair color, facial hair, glasses, earrings and the outfit you are wearing (costume styles keep its colors), so friends can tell who it is. Every run is a new drawing, so if one drifts, run it again.

Does it keep my skin tone?

It is the first instruction every style gets: paint the skin in the photo's own color and depth, with shadows in darker shades of that same color, so deep brown stays deep brown and light stays light. Manga Panel turns it into the matching shade of gray. If a result still comes out lighter than your photo, run it again.

Can I turn my pet into anime?

Yes. Dogs, cats, rabbits and birds come back as anime animals with the same breed, fur colors and markings, in any style.
